Plausible pricing explained: what it costs, and whether self-hosting is free

Plausible Cloud has three plans, Starter, Growth and Business, and the price follows your monthly pageviews: $9 a month for Starter at 10k, $69 at 1M, $169 at 10M. There is no free cloud plan, only a 30-day trial. Self-hosting the Community Edition is free to license, but you pay for the server and your own time, and some features stay cloud only. Every figure here was read from Plausible's own pages on 26 October 2026.

TL;DR

The short answer

How much does Plausible cost? On Plausible's pricing section you pick a monthly pageview tier, then a plan. The cheapest combination is Starter at up to 10k pageviews for $9 a month. The same tier is $14 on Growth and $19 on Business. Prices are in US dollars, and yearly billing is ten times the monthly price, which Plausible describes as 2 months free.

  • A small blog or one site under 10k pageviews: $9 a month on Starter ($90 a year).
  • A site with 100k pageviews: $19 a month on Starter, or $39 on Business if you need funnels, revenue attribution or the Stats API.
  • A busy site at 1M pageviews: $69 on Starter, $104 on Growth, $139 on Business.
  • Want it free: the only free route is self-hosting, covered below.

Plausible also lists an Enterprise plan with custom pricing.

What each Plausible plan includes

PlanSites and teamWhat it adds
StarterOne siteDashboard, email and Slack reports, Google Analytics import, goals, segments, annotations, no data retention limit.
GrowthUp to 3 sites, 3 team membersEverything in Starter, plus team management, shared links, embedded dashboards and shared segments.
BusinessUp to 10 sites, 10 team membersEverything in Growth, plus custom properties, the Stats API (600 requests an hour), a Data Studio connector, revenue attribution, funnels and a consolidated view.
Enterprise10+ sites, 10+ team membersCustom limits. Features such as a Sites API, SSO, a managed proxy and scheduled exports are included only if added to the agreement, so confirm what your quote covers.

What counts toward the tier: Plausible's subscription plans documentation says the tier is based on the total number of pageviews and custom events across all the sites in a team. Custom events include outbound link clicks, file downloads, form submissions, 404 error tracking and any manually tracked events, so a site that tracks many of them reaches a tier sooner than its pageview count suggests.

The plan limits matter more than the headline price if you run several sites. Starter lists one site, so a second site means Growth. The pageview tier is shared: Plausible's billing FAQ says billing is based on total usage across all the sites in a team.

Trial, going over your limit, and yearly billing

  • Trial: 30 days, no credit card required. There is no free plan on the pricing page.
  • Going over: Plausible's billing FAQ says an occasional traffic spike will not trigger extra charges or stop stats being counted, and a single month over the limit needs no action. If usage exceeds your tier for two consecutive months, it will ask you to upgrade.
  • Yearly billing: ten times the monthly price, so Starter at 10k is $90 a year, not $108.

Is self-hosted Plausible free?

The software is. Plausible's self-hosting page says "You never have to pay any fees to us" for the Community Edition, which is open source under the AGPLv3. The cost moves to you:

  • A server and your time. The same page says that when you self-host, the work Plausible does for cloud customers becomes your work: infrastructure, maintenance, security and backups. The Community Edition repository recommends at least 2 GB of RAM for ClickHouse and Plausible, on a CPU that supports SSE 4.2 or NEON. What a server costs depends on your provider, so we give no figure.
  • Community support only. Premium support is not included.
  • Slower releases. It is a long term release published twice a year, so the latest features are not available straight away.
  • Missing features. Plausible lists marketing funnels, user journeys, ecommerce revenue goals, SSO and the sites API as unavailable, with only basic bot filtering and no Data Studio connector. CSV export and the stats API are available.

Whether it is worth it depends on what an hour of your time costs. At 10k pageviews the cloud price is $90 a year; at 1M it is $690 a year on Starter. Self-hosting saves that only if the setup, upgrades and backups take you less than the money is worth, and if you can live without the cloud-only features above.

Plausible against Fathom, Simple Analytics and Stickybeak

Monthly price at the same traffic, from each tool's own pricing page, read on 26 October 2026. These tools count and bill differently, so check the details before you switch. Stickybeak is our product.

Tool10k pageviews100k pageviews1M pageviewsFree option
Plausible$9 (Starter)$19 (Starter)$69 (Starter)No free cloud plan; self-host
Fathom$15 (smallest tier is up to 100k)$15$60None; 7-day trial, card required
Simple AnalyticsFree plan: unlimited pageviews (fair use), badge requiredFree plan on the same terms, or Self-serve from $20 (estimated at 100k)Free plan on the same terms, or Self-serve: see pricing calculatorYes: unlimited pageviews (fair use), 5 websites, 1 user, 1 month history, badge required
Stickybeak (ours)Free$20 (Solo)$200 (Team)Free up to 10k pageviews

Reading it fairly: at 1M pageviews Plausible Starter ($69) and Fathom ($60) cost well under Stickybeak's $200 Team plan. Stickybeak's price is flat per plan, with 2 people on Solo and everyone on the team on Team, and revenue and the API start on Solo. Fathom's pricing page lists at least 50 sites on every plan, and Plausible Starter lists one. Simple Analytics lists a free plan with unlimited pageviews subject to its fair use policy, on the condition that you show its badge, and a Self-serve plan from $20 a month with $20 a month per extra user; check Simple Analytics' pricing calculator for your traffic and team size.

If what you want is a live view of every site you own with revenue tied to the channel it came from, that is what Stickybeak is for, and it is in early access. If you want a tidy, privacy-first traffic dashboard at the lowest price, Plausible and Fathom are built for that. Questions

How much does Plausible cost?

Plausible Cloud starts at $9 a month for the Starter plan at up to 10k monthly pageviews. The same tier is $14 on Growth and $19 on Business. At 100k pageviews the three plans are $19, $29 and $39 a month, and at 1M they are $69, $104 and $139. Prices are in US dollars.

Is Plausible free?

Not as a hosted service. Plausible's pricing page lists no free plan, only a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. The self-hosted Community Edition has no fee, but you run the server yourself.

Is self-hosted Plausible really free?

The software is. Plausible says you never have to pay it any fees for the Community Edition, which is open source under the AGPLv3. You still pay for the server and spend time on backups, upgrades and security, and support is community only.

What does self-hosted Plausible not include?

Plausible's self-hosting page lists marketing funnels, user journeys, ecommerce revenue goals, SSO and the sites API as unavailable, with only basic bot filtering and no Data Studio connector. CSV export and the stats API are available. It is released twice a year, so new features arrive later than on cloud.

Does Plausible charge per site?

The price is set by pageviews, but the plan caps sites. Plausible's pricing page lists one site on Starter, up to 3 on Growth and up to 10 on Business. Billing counts total usage across all the sites in a team.

What happens if I go over my Plausible pageview limit?

One month over costs nothing and needs no action. Plausible's billing FAQ says an occasional spike will not trigger extra charges or stop stats being counted, and that if usage exceeds your tier for two consecutive months it will ask you to upgrade.

How much is Plausible a year?

Yearly billing is ten times the monthly price, which Plausible describes as 2 months free. Starter at 10k pageviews is $90 a year, at 100k it is $190 and at 1M it is $690. Growth at 1M is $1,040 and Business at 1M is $1,390.
