Shopify
Shopify analytics with Stickybeak tracks storefront visits, product and cart pages, and checkout starts from one theme script. It is a lighter alternative to Google Analytics for Shopify and takes about five minutes to add.
Use the store's primary domain in Stickybeak and an account that can edit themes and settings.
Add the script
Open theme.liquid
Go to Online Store → Themes → ⋯ → Edit code → layout → theme.liquid.
Paste before </head>
<script defer data-site="YOUR_SITE_ID" data-domain="example.com" src="https://app.usestickybeak.com/_cfw/s.js" ></script>Save
The published theme updates immediately.
Check it's working
Open the primary storefront domain in a private window. Then follow Verify your install.
Track goals
Shopify conversion tracking
For page goals, add /cart or /products/* under ⚙ Settings → Goals → a page visit. For buttons, add attributes in the theme section or snippet:
<button type="submit" name="add" data-goal="add_to_cart" data-goal-product="{{ product.handle }}">
Keep existing attributes. See Custom goals.
Track purchases
The theme does not run on Shopify's checkout, Thank you or Order status pages. Customer-event pixels run in a sandboxed frame, so Stickybeak cannot record completed orders or revenue. Track checkout starts instead with Shopify checkout. See Revenue.
Page changes
Stickybeak records history-based route changes used by Shopify themes automatically.
If it isn't working
- Check the primary domain matches.
- Re-add the snippet after switching themes or a theme update replaces
theme.liquid.
See Troubleshooting.
