Backends

Headless CMSs

A headless CMS serves content, not visitor pages. Install Stickybeak in the frontend that renders its API data.

Choose the frontend guide

  • Next.js or Payload 3: Next.js.
  • React with Vite: React.
  • Laravel, Rails, Django or Express: choose a backend guide.
  • Anything else: put the tag in the shared HTML <head>.
<script
  defer
  data-site="YOUR_SITE_ID"
  data-domain="example.com"
  src="https://app.usestickybeak.com/_cfw/s.js"
></script>

Keep it out of the CMS

Do not inject the tag into the CMS admin. Preview panes usually iframe the frontend and are not counted; for a full-tab production preview, exclude your browser.

Goals and custom events from content

Add a goal-name field to editor-built links, then render it as data-goal in the frontend:

export function CallToAction({ label, href, goal }) {
  return <a href={href} data-goal={goal || undefined}>{label}</a>;
}

See Custom goals. Deploy the frontend—not the CMS preview—before following Verify your install.
