Data retention
Analytics data retention in Stickybeak keeps 32 days of raw visits for exact numbers and filters, plus daily totals for older reporting. Here is what happens after that.
Analytics retention at a glance
| Data | Kept |
|---|---|

| Each visitor's first-visit record | For as long as the site exists |
Raw data: 32 days
Every pageview, goal and session is stored in full for 32 days, counted in whole days in your site's timezone. That's what powers Today through 30 days on your site page: exact unique visitors, and filters on any breakdown.
Daily rollups
Every hour, Stickybeak rebuilds today's and yesterday's daily rollups for each site:
- Daily totals: visitors, sessions, pageviews, bounces, time on site, and bots.
- Daily breakdowns: the top 100 rows per day for each report, such as referrers, channels, UTM tags, pages, entry and exit pages, locations, browsers, devices, goals and bots.
The 90 days, 12 months and All time views read these rollups. Two things are different there:
- Visitors are a daily sum. Someone who visits on three different days counts three times, so the figure is labelled as a daily sum.
- Filters don't apply, because the rollups don't keep the individual visits needed to filter them.
If a period's comparison falls partly on archived days, its percentage change is worked out from the rollups so the comparison still works.
Archives
Once raw data passes 32 days, the hourly job writes each day's pageviews, goals and sessions to compressed files in Stickybeak's archive storage, one file per site per day, then deletes those rows from the database. Your charts don't change, because the rollups for those days are already in place.
The dashboard doesn't read the archives, and there's no download for them in the dashboard.
Two exceptions:
- Purchases stay in the database and aren't archived, so revenue reports cover any range with full detail.
- Privacy mode data isn't archived. Its raw rows are deleted at the 32-day mark, and only the daily rollups remain.
Run it now
The job runs every hour on its own. To run it straight away for your workspace's sites, go to Settings → Data retention and click Run it now. Only workspace admins can do this. Each run archives up to 14 days per site, so a big backlog clears over a few runs.
Deleting a site
In Settings, click Delete on a site's card to remove the site and its analytics from the database, including its rollups. It can't be undone. Visits that arrive afterwards with that site's ID are refused.
