Single-page apps
Single-page application analytics in Stickybeak watches supported client-side route changes after you install the normal script.
SPA analytics: what counts
| Change | Pageview? |
|---|---|
history.pushState changes the path | Yes, after 100 ms |
| Back or forward changes the path | Yes |
| Only the query or hash changes | No |
history.replaceState | No |
| The path stays the same | No |
Hash-based routers
Routes such as /#/settings look like one page because the path never changes. Use history mode if your router supports it. You cannot send pageview manually; that name is reserved.
Visits and duplicate tags
Route changes keep the arrival source and remain in the same visit. Rapid changes record only the final path. If the tag renders twice, later copies do nothing.
In privacy mode, routes within one page load share temporary visitor and session IDs; a full reload starts new ones.
